Hi, I'm Gavin.
I'm the person behind Chosen Sounds, and the person you will work with from your first enquiry through to the final song of the night.
Chosen Sounds is built around giving you more choice over your wedding or party. From the music you want to hear to the sound and lighting setup that suits your event, every booking is shaped around what you want, so your celebration feels exactly the way you imagined it.
MY APPROACH
Flexible by design
For me, great DJing starts long before the first song is played. From your first enquiry onwards, I'll take the time to understand what you want from your event, helping you plan the music, sound and setup in a way that works for you.
I believe you should have as much say over your event as you want. If you'd like to choose every song, that's absolutely fine. If you'd rather give me a direction and trust me to fill in the gaps, that's fine too. Most people prefer something in the middle. Whatever your approach, I'll offer as much support as you need and use your input to shape the music around your event.

LIVE MIXING
I always mix live across a variety of styles, from stems and wordplay to beat matching and slam mixing. I can play full songs or quick-fire mixes.
MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE
Music isn't just what I do at events. It's been a lifelong interest that continues to shape how I DJ. From chart hits and classics to niche genres and forgotten favourites, I'm always discovering new music and rediscovering old favourites.
JUDGEMENT
Once I understand what you're looking for, I'll build a unique selection of music for your event. Rather than following a fixed playlist, I use my judgement to play the right tracks at the right times.
MY SETUP
Professional sound & lighting
Sound
I use Alto Professional sound equipment, with three distinct sound system configurations available. From compact column speakers to larger PA speakers with an 18-inch subwoofer, I can tailor the system to the size of your venue, the number of guests and the sound coverage required.
Lighting
At the centre of my lighting setup is the Chauvet DJ GigBAR Move ILS, supported by additional Chauvet ILS fixtures that work together to create a coordinated light show. These include moving heads, wash lighting and derby effects.
I also have uplighting, gobo projection and a haze machine, giving me plenty of options beyond the main light show. I can use subtle, static lighting or create a fully synchronised show with individual control over the fixtures.
